What, they’re going to do it again ?

    Oh no they’re not !

    Oh YES they are !

So; FigureWorld; same place, same time of year, same people running it.

And yes, yet again it’s going to be brilliant…….Just like it was in previous years !

We’re already beginning to organise this, and just so you can pencil the date into your diary, it’s going to be on Saturday the 19th of July 2014 at Oundle School, Oundle, Near Peterborough, PE8 4GH.

Times for the show will be the same as last year – 9:30am until 16:30pm.

And just like last year there’s a good amount of free parking. There will be a stall with refreshments, lots of traders and enough displays of model figures to please even the most jaded modeller. Yet again there’s no competition to worry about and simply loads of figure modellers in attendance to chat about your favourite hobby with.

    More details here.

I'll be there, barring any catastrophes.

How do you actually get a figure on display at the show.? Surely you don't just turn up and try to find a space somewhere. I don't have anything worthy of display by the way, I'm just curious ;)

    Cheers,
    Billy

    A well overdue update.

    The Speed Painting.
A new addition to FigureWorld, and something different. The idea is to bring your own paints and brushes etc, and then paint something quick !
The “something” in question is a bust sculpture by Rob Lane ...produced specially for the speed painting event and is being given free of charge to all twelve of the entrants.
12 places are available, the group of painters will sit down together and within three quarters of an hour……..well, we’ll see what the result is.
The point is to paint the face to as high a standard as you can in that time – painting the rest of the bust is optional……..and if you’ve got the time.
The fun starts at 2pm when all the people registered will sit down with their own paints and brushes and be given their starting orders.
Sound’s simple? Well there might be a couple of other hurdles put in your way, but it is meant to be for fun.
It’s brilliant to take part in, but also very good to watch as different techniques and ideas come to the fore from different painters to get results fast. If you’ve never seen a Speed Painting competition before, then this is your chance.
The Speed-painting event is sponsored by Rob Lane from Elan13 and Martyn Dorey from MDP – both of whom have trade stands at the show. The speed painting event will be held upstairs where the demonstrators were housed last year.
PLEASE NOTE. Participation in the speed painting is free, but by pre-registration only – please contact Robin Snelson by messaging from our Facebook page address below or mail me at speedpaint@dracodesign.co.uk to reserve a place first come first server as it were
So, Reason #6 for going to FigureWorld 2014 – Speed Painting…….come on, you know you want to !
FigureWorld 2014 – the place to be on Saturday the 19th of July 2014, Oundle School, Oundle, Near Peterborough. PE8 4GH.
Times for the show will be the same as last year – 9:30am until 16:30pm.

    Lunchtime update:

    Reason # 8

Rumours, smoke and mirrors…….nope, none of them at FigureWorld, but to let you know just how much is going on at the show, the trader list looks like this….in alphabetical order so we’re showing no preferences :-
    2D Flat Miniatu...res,
    Ax Faction
    Avid Reader,
    Barwell Body Works
    Dark Art Miniatures,
    Dark Star Miniatures,
    Elan Miniatures
    Gideon Miniatures
    JoeK Miniatures,
    Mil Mart Miniatures,
    Model Display Products,
    Name It,
    Oakwood Studios,
    Pete Watson Bases
    Retrokit,
    SK Minaitures,
    Sphere Producions.
    Tommy’s War Miniatures.

So not only is the Great Hall full as usual, but also there’s a couple of traders in the refreshments room.

Just as a reminder about the demonstrations too – Conrad Mynett will be painting miniatures with his usual flair and lots of acrylics, and Steve from Barwell Body Works will be showing his expertise with airbrushes. Not only that, the speed-painting will showcase just how little – or how much – of a model can get painted in a very frenzied ( or calm ) half an hour.

So, traders galore, various demonstrations and possibly some sillyness, not to mention cups of tea and coffee – what more could you want…….OK then lots of painted models on show, plus perhaps some part built projects that you get to see before they’re finished – because they’re allowed on the displays too y’know

All this packed in to Reason #8 for why you should be at FigureWorld 2014 rather than anywhere else……..You know you’re worth it.

FigureWorld 2014 – and the market town of Oundle – definitely the place to go on Saturday the 19th of July 2014, Oundle School, Oundle, Near Peterborough. PE8 4GH.
Times for the show will be the same as last year – 9:30am until 16:30pm.

Quick reminder as I drain my cup of tea and prepare to enter the maelstrom of work.

Figureworld this weekend - all details on this thread. All welcome. Bring figures to display, bring money to spend with traders, bring yourselves :)

If folks can't make it, they can just wire me money. I'm pretty cool with that ;)

Wish I could come over for this! I am saving my money for Euromilitaire, though. I hope to see as many of you there as possible! Have a great weekend, folks!

I will be there again this year and convinced 2 or 3 others from my local gaming club to pop over too. Nearest event to me by a fair measure so definitely not missing it.

I'll be along, as per usual, and the PB section will even have some nice acrylic display stands to put models on!

With my Kickstarter running I'm extremely disorganised this year, but I'll have a raggedy display and a small amount of stock!

If anyone wants anything specific from the existing 32mm range please let me know in a message and I will keep it back for you. I only have between 3 and 7 casts of each model made right now! There's Jekyll, Frank, Chee-Chee, Talullah, Holmes and Watson. No Toads though, he keeps selling out.

Quite limited on larger stuff too but I will have some of each piece - 54mm Talullah, 90mm Talullah, 54mm Talullah, 90mm Talullah, regular Uncle John bust and large Uncle John bust.

Looking forward to seeing you at the show and doing all I can to make you sign up for the Kickstarter! Did I mention I'm running a Kickstarter? :p
