@Chris - what?!! You don't already have King Maulg?!?! He's soooo nice and I got Tanka Wanka at the same time :p

But back to the model itself which I love and the base is awesome except for one thing. I really don't like the gold railing... It just doesn't seem to sit well in the scene IMO. The war photographer is superb; it looks like an actual painting rather than a model. Just looking at it for 5 mins and you start to see all the colours he's used. Brilliant.

Maulg is superb. I am a softie for sweet bases and that's one of the nicest I've seen, but I do agree about the railing, it feels a bit out of place. The inset pool at the bottom is a wonderful touch though!

Found this over on legio pictorum by durgin. Lovely bit of painting. The colour, lighting and composition of these things really works well. I was hoping to paint one of these up myself because i thought they could look pretty awesome. no need anymore :p

Just bought a box of these Demi griffons; this one shows just what they can look like with a tweak and twiddle. Love the warm tones to the piece and the base really suits it too.

Didn't he sculpt that years ago? I seem to remember seeing it way back. Did he ever get paint on it?
